The city of Lund is located in South Sweden skåne (in the historical Skåne). It is the eleventh largest city in Sweden and belongs to the city of Malmö. Lund is called also "University City", because a third of the population are students. Around 41,000 study here at one of the largest universities in Scandinavia.

The place is considered the cultural centre of southern Sweden and applied as European capital of culture 2014. In the city with the medieval brick facades, there are many theatres, cinemas and cafes, where also readings are held. Lund is the Cathedral which was built in the Romanesque style. After crossing the Öresund bridge, it is fast in Copenhagen, which is only 60 km away.

You can discover the surroundings by bike from Lund. A day trip could lead to the island of Ven to the memorials of Tycho Brahe. You can visit the castle of Glimminge near the town of Simrishamm. It is the best preserved medieval castle in Scandinavia. In Skåne, there are over 70 well-equipped golf courses and many riding stables.
