Nîmes is a city in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon in southern of France with nearly 145,000 located about 162 square kilometres. Originally Nîmes was founded by the Celts under the name of Nemausos, which means shrine or temple. But in the first century the Romans conquered the region and incorporated into its provinces of Nîmes.

Essentially, the culture of the Roman Empire was the image of the city, which still today numerous, excellently preserved buildings. Already at that time lived in the town of more than 25,000 people and cultural institutions, such as the amphitheatre, which is still in the Centre of Nimes, and the Temple of Diana, were already in the impressive architectural works of art. The Jardins de la Fontaine, a park built in the 18th century, is not only a wonderfully quiet, green oasis in the middle of Nîmes, but also the Temple of Diana, and the only surviving Celtic structure of the tour Magne, which were integrated into the Park. There are spectacular views of Nîmes and its surroundings from the Celtic, 32 M high tower.
